SWAPP hosts the 8th Regional ISSOWAMA Workshop
The workshop was attended by 70 participants from local governments, private sector, waste service providers, technology providers and academe. The workshop presented the various waste technologies being used at the municipal level and health care waste. Emerging technologies that comply with RA 9003 were also presented.
More importantly, the workshop provided a window to see solid waste management beyond 3 Rs but focusing also on the business potentials and their economic viability.
The Integrated Sustainable Solid Waste Management for Asia (ISSOWAMA) Project is an European Union funded project consisting of 22 solid waste management practitioners in 13 countries. ISSOWAMA Project aims to disseminate the compiled knowledge on solid waste management during the course of the project in a broad level.
